Program of your trip to Palemeu

Day 1: In the morning you will arrive at the airport Zorg en Hoop in Paramaribo at 10.00 o’clock with a taxi (not included). Around 11.00 o’clock you will fly approximately 2 hours from Paramaribo to Palumeu Jungle lodge located on the Tapanahony river. This lodge will be your accommodation in the coming days.

Day 2: With the guide, you will visit the village Palemeu that is nearby the lodge where the Trio and Wajana Indians live. Here you will get an idea of how the Amerindians are living in there traditional habitat. Try to shoot with the ‘bow and arrow’  a traditional hunting tool (not included in the program price).  Meet locals and support the local economy by buying handmade souvenirs. You can also choose to hike to the top of Poti Hill! Here you will have an astonishing view over the river and mountains and a good chance that you will encounter monkeys and birds that live in the Amazon rainforest. 

Day 3: Today you will sail on the river and the guide will tell you about the flora and fauna in the rainforest while enjoying the river breeze. Enjoy a visit to the Mabuka rapids in one of the most pristine areas on Earth!

Day 4: After lunch, you will say goodbye to Palemeu and fly back to Paramaribo. At Zorg en Hoop Airport you can take a  taxi back to your hotel at your own expense. Diner at your own costs.
