Program of your culture and art trip in Suriname
Day 1: Our starting point is Schiphol Airport from here we fly directly to Paramaribo. At Johan Adolf Pengel airport you will be picked up and brought to your hotel and spend the night.
Day 2: Today you will make a city tour by bus. The tour includes a visit to a local market, historical buildings, and statues. You will spend the night at the hotel.
Day 3: After breakfast, you start the Museum plantation tour in Paramaribo and go further to district Commewijne. To give you a better impression of Suriname. You spend the night at Plantation Frederiksdorp.
Day 4: After breakfast, you sail on the river to spot dolphins. After lunch, you make a village tour. You will spend the night at Frederiksdorp.
Day 5: Today you go by boat and bus back to Paramaribo and sleep at the hotel.
Day 6: After breakfast, you depart by bus and boat to Bigi Pan. Around 13.00 you arrive and spend the night there. In the evening you go bird watching.
Day 7: In the morning you will go to Nieuw Nickerie and visit the market. After lunch, you will return back to Paramaribo, and spend the night there.
Day 8: After breakfast, you will visit an art shop in Paramaribo, an Indigenous souvenir maker, and go by bus further to Nature park Brownsberg. On Brownsberg you will hike to the Irene fall and spot animals. In the afternoon you will go by bus to Stone Island. You will sleep there in basic accommodation on Stone Island.
Day 9: In the morning you will sail on the Brokopondo lake and spot sloths. After lunch, you have free time. In the evening you can swim in the lake. You will sleep again on Stone Island.
Day 10: After breakfast, you will go by bus to Pokigron (Atjoni). By boat, you will travel to Danpaati River Resort. In the night you go searching for caimans. Your sleeping accommodation is at the resort.
Day 11: After breakfast, you visit the Marron Museum and Maroon craft factory. In the evening there will be a performance of a traditional dance group (upon availability). Your sleeping accommodation is at the resort.
Day 12: After breakfast, you go to Paramaribo, first by boat to Atjoni, and then go further with the bus. Around 16.00 you arrive in Paramaribo.
Day 13: Free day, you spend the night at the hotel.
Day 14: Fly back to Amsterdam.
Day 15: Arrival at Schiphol airport in Amsterdam.

ACCOMMODATION
In Paramaribo, we use different hotels and apartments. The rooms each have a private bathroom with hot and cold water and are air-conditioned. Breakfast is provided and is included. The different accommodations usually have an (indoor/outdoor) swimming pool or ‘plunge pool’ so that you can take a refreshing dive. There is wifi in the accommodation, so you can keep in touch with the home front online.
It is possible to leave luggage temporarily when you make a multi-day tour from Paramaribo. When you return with a backpack full of dirty laundry, you can usually do your laundry for a small fee. Ideal if you have planned a multi-day tour.
